Pandian is currently pursuing doctorate and studying on quantifying the flood reduction capability of flexible vegetation using physical and numerical modelling techniques. His prior professional experience includes working as a Project Scientist in Coastal and Environmental Engineering division of National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) and as a Technical Director with Merizen.

He has worked on a wide range of projects including detailed engineering and design of coastal structures, breakwaters, revetment, sea walls, etc. He holds expertise in wave tranquillity studies, structural analysis, design and detailing of RCC structures and has experience in physical model testing of rubble mound and offshore structures.
